General Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between NOIR and other privacy coins?

NOIR and Zcoin: Noir is a fork from the very early stages of Zcoin. Noir runs under the lyra2z330. The only thing Noir and Zcoin have in common is the protocol for anonymous transactions.

Compared to other privacy coins: Noir is a real community coin, it is completely decentralized and managed by a voting. The voting will be realized via the Discord Channel With Noir, the decisions are not made by a small group of developers, but by the real Noir owners: its community.

What is the total supply, block time and block reward?

There is no supply cap. The coin has a constant inflation rate of 2%, which equals 2.2 noir / block. Each block takes around 2.5 minutes to mature. Every year only 420 000 Noir will be added to the supply. The new block reward structure will be: 20% dev fund, 50% masternodes, 30% Stakers

What is a Noirnode and how do I get one?

Noirnode is the term used for Noir masternodes. Masternodes are computers that run a wallet and help secure the network by completing special tasks on the blockchain and ensuring quick transactions. To set up a Noirnode, you must have dedication, support, specific hardware, and lock up 25,000 Noir as voted on by the community.
